Guidelines for the Board (drafted fall, 1977):
It is the desire of the ministry and official boards of this church to help our church family grow in Christian grace, practice and knowledge, to make worship meaningful through improving techniques, to conduct services of divine worship in an orderly fashion, with reverence, sincerity and appropriate taste.
BCE Objectives
To train leaders and potential leaders to implement BCE programs
To identify the goals of religious education and its implementation through the Sunday School, Junior Church, Vacation Bible School, Deacons and Deaconesses, and the Harvey Johnson Center.
To evaluate and restructure programs to meet the needs of the greater community
To identify and incorporate special interests and resource activities as a stimulus for increased participation
To promote Christian Education and to monitor religious activities.
In addition to Sunday School, Junior Church, Vacation Bible School and Wednesday Bible Study, the Board of Christian Education encourages and supports programs which creatively address our spiritual growth, development and leadership skills, such as the:
Girl Scouts
Bible Trivia Class
Youth Ministries
League of Little Women
Junior Men’s League
The Board is currently focused on the revitalization of the Junior Church, the Harvey Johnson Center, and activities to engage and support our youth. As a result, it recently hosted events such as:
Youth Lock-in
Youth Day
Back to School Sunday
Ice Cream Sundae Sunday
Junior Church Grand Opening.
New events planned for the remainder of the year include:

UBC Bake-Off – November/December
Sunday School
Objectives:
To strengthen the moral and ethical background of the participant in the conduct of his or her life.
To instill in every participant a dynamic God conscientiousness by exposing them to the life, the teachings, and the ethics of Jesus.
Junior Church
Objectives:
To religiously educate children to take a responsible role in the church.
To train youth as leaders and potential leaders of the church.
To develop the proper conduct and attitudes toward worship experiences.
To develop wholesome interpersonal relationships and skills through recreation and creative arts.
Vacation Bible School
Objectives:
To introduce children to biblical concepts which promote the Christian life and attitudes
To provide children with models of Christians in action
To develop positive self images of the participants
To develop an appreciation of their cultural heritage
To provide children with creative experiences (arts & crafts, music, etc.)
To stimulate children to want to be affiliated with the church
