We are the “gatekeepers.” We meet and greet all who enter the sanctuary for spiritual, social, and cultural renewal. We believe that if you feel welcomed, you will come back.

Each group ushers on regularly assigned Sundays. The Male Ushers serve on each first and fifth Sunday, as well as on the third Sunday during the months of June, July, and August.

The Female Ushers serve on each second and fourth Sunday, and take great pride in their service whether wearing their summer or their winter uniforms.

The Junior Ushers serve as young leaders in the Church and range in ages from 6 to 18. Through the Junior Usher Board, the youth are provided with many opportunities for leadership, service, and hospitality. They are responsible for handing out bulletins, finding seats during worship service and taking up collection. They serve on the third Sunday of each month and their motto is: Serving God by Serving His People.

The three groups usher jointly on Homecoming Sunday and on Union’s Organization Day. The Joint Usher Board also hosts a coffee hour immediately after morning worship on Usher’s Sunday. This annual event is guaranteed to warm the hearts and delight the appetites of Union members and visitors.
